The Biggest Loser

No, that is not me in any way, shape or form. However, Tuesday night, while on the treadmill, I caught a good portion of the tv show, "The Biggest Loser". I've never really watched that show before, but it happened to be on the tv in front of the treadmill I was using. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the set-up- severely overweight people go on the show to compete at losing weight. Really I think everyone winds up a winner in this show. I mean just about everyone manages to lose at least some weight. Ok, anyway, back to my story. So, they are just about done with this season and the show I saw was the penultimate one. There are 4 people there right now, 2 guys and 2 girls. I watched them work out like crazy and at the end of the show, they each had to get on the scale to determine how much weight they lost this week. There is this one woman, Ali, who looks pretty thin these days. Not skinny, but I don't think anyone would call her heavy at this point. Prior to this episode, Ali had lost 88 pounds. She gets on the scale and the numbers start spinning around and I pretty much almost fell off the treadmill when they announced that she now weighed 135 pounds. There is now a contestant on the Biggest Loser who weighs 3 pounds less than me. At that point in time, I was getting pretty tired from the running. Well, this little piece of information helped me kick it into another gear. I know Ali has spent many weeks working her butt off, literally, to weigh what she does, but still there was some part of me that felt that I should not weigh more than someone on that show. I guess if this is a motivation for me- I'll be running again next tuesday during the finale:)
