Pampered Chef
A couple of weeks back, I attended a Pampered Chef party. It was the first one I had been to in quite awhile. I actually wasn't invited to this one, my mom was and she asked if I wanted to tag along. The woman who was hosting is someone I know and the Pampered Chef seller was another of my mom's friends. Well, I totally enjoyed the party and the food was awesome. I have a long list of items that I would love to purchase, but there were two things that I did buy that night. Just last week, they arrived. The first was a rice cooker. Not one of those things that you have to plug in and is kinda large and tough to store. This one fits in your microwave and is designed to allow you to microwave long-grain non-instant rice. It is so good. Very easy to use and makes awesome rice that is so much better than the instant stuff I normally eat at home. (On a side note, along with figuring out how to use the rice cooker, I finally figured out how to set the power level on my microwave- only took three years.) A big plus with this rice cooker is that you can use it to cook other things as well. I plan on trying it out for cooking rice-a-roni tomorrow. And at the party, they actually cooked a chocolate cake in it- can't wait to try that out sometime. The other item that I bought has resulted in my new love of a fruit that until now I typically avoided- pineapple. Pampered Chef has a new item called the pineapple wedger. Pretty much it is the apple wedger in a large version. It takes out the core and that outside brown stuff leaving you with two semi-circles of fruit. Plus, you can lift it up, turn it 90 degrees, and cut again giving you four quarters that you can then slice into chunks easily. In the past, I was the one who would avoid pineapple in fruit salads- it was sour and not all that appealing. Well, when you cut it fresh, the fruit takes on a whole new taste. It's actually kind of sweet and very juicy. I have become a big pineapple fan and a big Pampered Chef fan. I'm actually hosting a show now in August- hopefully it will help me get some free stuff off of my long wish-list of products:)

Welcome back to the world of pineapple. Very nice buys, sounds like. I'm still very fond of my PC kitchen shears and a serving dish with a freezable-reversable bottom (one side is flat to go with the divider that forms a veggie dish, the other for deviled eggs. genius).
Seriously, some of the best kitchen stuff out there!
